EXCELLENT RATINGS FROM STUDENTS
I take pride in my work and do my best to help my students to succeed!
I have played guitar since I was 9 years old, and I've enjoyed every minute of it.
If you are a beginning guitar enthusiast and want to learn how to play the right way, I can help you. I have experience playing rock, blues, country, fingerstyle, and jazz guitar. Additionally, I use an award winning program that I'll personally tailor to your needs. Learning to play a musical instrument is an essential skill that you will benefit from forever!
I do not want to teach you to play guitar. I want to give you the ability to teach yourself, so you can reach your full potential.
During our first lesson I evaluate the new student to see what they really know so I can decide how I can customize our materials to fit their needs. Then, we begin working towards their goals at their pace. Simple as that.
Available online or in-person (Nixa, MO)
I taught myself guitar as a teenager and have been playing casually for 9 years but recently decided to really dive in and learn the fundamentals and techniques, so I booked some classes with Donnie.
He teaches through video sessions and assigns weekly homework in a workbook, which works great for me as I feel most comfortable practicing from within my own home. I'm so excited by how much I've learned by working with him!
He lets me go at my own pace so that I don't feel like I'm in over my head, but also encourages me to try faster speeds/tricky chords that I would otherwise give up on.
He's really accommodating when I have to reschedule. Plus, he's extremely friendly, not to mention very experienced, and I always look forward to our cheerful lessons. I sincerely can't recommend Donnie enough as a guitar teacher!
